The finishing hole at Turnberry (site of this year's Open Championship) was renamed in honour of the 1977 Open Championship. The unforgettable duel between Jack Nicklaus and eventual winner Tom Watson is regarded by many as the finest Major championship ever played. For the record, Hubert Green finished in third place, 11 shots behind Watson, followed by Lee Trevino, Ben Crenshaw, Arnold Palmer and Ray Floyd.

A new back tee will lengthen this most famous of holes by 29 yards for this year's Open Championship. A third bunker has been added at driving distance, with a further two protecting the approach will add zest to an already classic finisher.
