About Czabe

Steve Czaban is one of the most experienced daily sports talk radio hosts in the nation. In his 15 year professional career, Czaban (or "Czabe" as his friends and listeners have always called him) has worked for all three major syndicated sports talk networks (Sporting News, ESPN Radio, Fox Sports Radio), filled in for popular national host Jim Rome, and has worked locally in markets including Santa Barbara, Chicago, Milwaukee, Charlotte and Washington D.C.

Currently, Czabe hosts "The First Team on Fox" for nationally syndicated Fox Sports Radio. His morning drive program airs from 6-9 a.m. Monday through Friday, and is heard in over 110 markets. The show is also heard on XM Channel 142, and replayed from 12-3 p.m. EST to accommodate West Coast listeners who can't hear his show live.

In addition, Czabe is currently in his fifth year of co-hosting the afternoon drive-time show "The Sports Reporters" in his hometown of Washington, D.C. on Sportstalk 980. Czaban teams with 25 year radio veteran and DC native Andy Pollin to discuss and dissect everything from the Redskins, Wizards, Nationals, Caps, Maryland basketball and football, local college basketball, and more.

And even though he no longer lives and works in the Midwest, Czabe continues his relationship with the top rated morning show in Milwaukee, "The Bob and Brian Show" on 102.9 "The Hog." Czabe has been the show's designated sports commentator since 1995, and his often rambling exploits with the fellas have become legend. The segment began as a 15 minute phone call, but has expanded to a full 30 minute broadcast daily, via "virtual studio" from D.C.

While radio is Czabe's primary passion, he does dabble in television with what he calls his "Phil Collins hair" and "face for radio." During Redskins season, Czaban teams with Chick Hernandez and former NFL player Brian Mitchell on Comcast Sports Net in Washington D.C. to breakdown the game and interview guests on "Redskins Post Game Live."

Czaban has also been an infrequent contributor to Fox News Channel and Tony Snow's Weekend Live program, while also appearing as a "talking head" on various shows such as the Today Show (on the Augusta National membership controversy) and ESPN Classic's "Who's Number 1" program among others.

As if everybody wasn't sick of his sports opinions at this point, Czabe also writes and edits this Web site daily, in cooperation with OnMilwaukee.com, where he also writes a weekly column.

For fun, in his free time, Czabe is an avid golfer who is convinced that his handicap will never dip below an eight unless he is fired, divorced, wins the lottery - or all three! Czaban created and directs a Ryder Cup style amateur golf event in the DC area called "The Potomac Cup." It is currently in its fifth year. He has also launched an event in Wisconsin called "The Ham and Egg Open" which benefits skin cancer research and is run in conjunction with Czabe.com and OnMilwaukee.com.

Steve Czaban is a native of Fairfax County, Virginia. He grew up on what he calls the "mean streets of McLean", which as anybody who lives in the DC area knows, is the mother of all oxymorons. His father is a retired federal worker, his mother a retired teacher. He has one older brother Jim, and one younger sister, Ann Marie.

Steve Czaban, 37, is married with two daughters and lives in Northern Virginia.
